Text Box: Curriculum: Grandma’s House 4K uses the Handwriting Without Tears Curriculum. Typically during the week the class will complete one or two workbook pages with teacher guidance in small groups.

Homework: Yes, your child will receive homework for the weekend and they LOVE it! They are simple letter reinforcement activities, choosing one of the three activities to complete with your assistance.

Requirements: Your child must be four years old by September 1, 2010. They must attend 4K at least four days: Monday through Thursday, but are welcome to attend all five days. Friday will be considered an “Enrichment Day”. Your child may attend one morning half day Monday through Thursday.

Tuition: Tuition remains the same daily rate you currently pay. There is a onetime 4K Registration Fee of $75.00 to cover workbooks, materials, and computer programs.

Field Trips: Your child will attend field trips, typically once a month to reinforce curriculum themes. In the past we have ventured to Zoo and Museum classes, performances, pet and grocery stores, plays and Nursing homes just to name a few. As always, parents are encouraged to help out by chaperoning trips whenever possible.

School Supplies: Your child will receive a school supply list in August which will list all requested materials. Nap mats are provided, but families still need to send a clean crib size sheet and blanket weekly.

Evaluations: We continue to use our child portfolio/evaluation format for assessment purposes. However, in 4K you will receive three evaluations throughout the year. We offer parent-teacher conferences and we are happy to schedule additional meetings if you have concerns or questions.

Weekly Newsletters: You will receive a weekly synopsis about what your child learned during the week, important information and updates. We would like to send newsletters electronically during the school year, so if you have access to email, we will be asking for your email address.
