PhilosophyText Box: Grandma’s House is a developmentally appropriate child care setting which strives to meet the cognitive, physical, social, and emotional needs of each child through access to materials and playtime under the guidance of a qualified staff in a warm and caring atmosphere which is licensed by the State of Wisconsin and accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children.  As an accredited program, we have voluntarily undergone a comprehensive process of internal self-study, invited external professional review to verify compliance with the Academy’s Criteria, 
and been found to be in compliance with the Criteria.  
Our curriculum was created using the NAEYC criteria for each age group.

SOCIAL

Small group sizes.

Multi-cultural, non-sexist activities.

Home cooked, family style meals and snacks.

Open door policy.

Family nights:  pot luck dinners, ice cream socials, art gallery

 

 

 

EMOTIONAL

Emphasis on self esteem.

Positive reinforcement.

Redirection.

Infants determine their own schedule.

Teachers are trained in CPR and First Aid.
